2017 Prasad Conference — Reading the Body
In this hands-on weekend workshop, renowned Ayurvedic physician and scholar, Vasant Lad presents ancient teachings on how to assess health by reading the body. This year’s topics include pulse, tongue and facial line reading, the entry of vata, pitta and kapha into the systems of the body (digestive, nervous, etc.), and evaluation of the subtle energies associated with mental constitution.
The weekend workshop will culminate with a special self-healing technique through the pulse itself. Shri Anandi Ma, Master of Kundalini Maha Yoga, and Meditation Master, Dileepji will also be present to perform an abhisek (an ancient spiritual practice in which milk and Ganges water are poured upon a shaligram (an aspect of Vishnu). A unique mantra will be applied to help in the healing of illnesses that are not easily cured and/or remain undiagnosed by modern medical tests and healing modalities. More information to aid in the healing of oneself and others will be shared.

What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda, the science of life, is one of the world’s oldest medical systems, originating in India over 5000 years ago.
This healing art uses herbs, oils, nutrition, and other practices to restore balance and harmony to the body, mind and spirit.
“The ancient art of tongue diagnosis … describes quite characteristic patterns that can reveal the functional status of respective internal organs merely by observing the surface of the tongue. The tongue is the mirror of the viscera.” ~ Vasant Lad
Once you know how to read these bodily indicators, you will gain awareness of your own constitution, any imbalances, and how to address those through lifestyle adjustments and ayurvedic herbs and oils.
For those on a spiritual path, Ayurveda is an essential aspect of the science of yoga. Your body is your vehicle for the spiritual journey, so learning this subtle science of pulse, tongue and facial analysis will accelerate your progress.
